Clif Bar

When we sit down to eat, most of us do not think about all of the people that were involved in bringing our food to our tables. How do we treat the workers that picked our vegetables or reared the animals, transported and packaged the produce and finally served us our food? Most importantly, how do we reward them for their essential work?

Some companies, like Clif Bar, are setting new standards by paying living wages, increasing the diversity of their workforce and offering real career progression. Their hope is that if a few companies raise the bar, others will follow. They are stepping out from the pack to make sure that their workers are paid better, have an appreciation for their place in the food chain and feel empowered by their work. How they source their ingredients is of key importance, with organic leading the way.
